FIRST AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN PRESENTED HIS LETTER OF CREDENCE TO PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV

The first Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dato' Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, presented his letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the morning of 9 September 2014 at the Presidential Palace, Zugulba, Baku.   The ceremony took place hardly 24 hours after the arrival of H.E. the Ambassador on the afternoon of 8 September 2014.

H.E. Dato' Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman reviewed the guard of honor and handed his letter of Credence to President Aliyev. The Ambassador extended the greetings on behalf of the SPB Yang DiPertuan Agong, Prime Minister and people of Malaysia to President Aliyev.

Both noted the importance of mutual interest in expanding Azerbaijani-Malaysian relations and said there were good opportunities for the development of bilateral ties in various areas. They emphasized the significance of successful cooperation in the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The issues related to the development of the bilateral ties in the economic, energy and other fields were also discussed during the conversation.

President Aliyev thanked H.E. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman for the greetings of the SPB Yang DiPertuan Agong, Prime Minister and people of Malaysia and asked the Ambassador to communicate his greetings to them.
