The 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, YABhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, made an official working visit to Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan from 6-11 March, 2016. He attended the 33rd Plenary Session of the Canadian InterAction Council (IAC) that was held from 8 – 9 March, 2016 in Baku. The sessions discussed on the current situation of the world, New Realities for Global Health Security, Iran and the New Middle East; and The Future of work in the 21st century: Jobs, Technology and Youth Employment were part of the attended meeting. The IAC meeting took place on the eve of the 4th Global Forum titled “Towards a Multipolar World”.
On the 10th of March YABhg Tun Abdullah Badawi attended the Opening Session of the 4th Global Forum which discussed the topics such as international security, regional threats on global economic challenges, climate change and energy policy, role of oil-producing countries, multiculturalism, inter-religious dialogue and mutual integration. The Forum were attended by former Heads of Government, officials, politicians and experts.
YABhg Tun Abdullah Badawi also made a visit to the newly established Embassy of Malaysia in Baku and was encouraged to see the new place. He also attended a reception held in his honour at the Residence before his departure back to Kuala Lumpur.
