Malaysia-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) 3rd round of negotiations, Brussels, 10-13 May 2011

On 10-13 May 2011, Malaysia-EU FTA 3rd round of negotiations was held in Brussels. Dato' N. Vasudevan of MITI Malaysia and Mr. Peter Benz of DG Trade, European Commission as lead negotiators opened the session by recapitulating the desire of the stakeholders from both sides to have the negotiations concluded in 18 months, i.e. by mid-2012.
 
The Malaysian Delegation comprised of 49 officials from 20 agencies, namely Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment (NRE), Ministry of Human Resource (MOHR), Public Works Department (PWD), Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Domestic Trade and Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC), Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO), Royal Malaysian Customs (RMC), Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (KPKK), Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB), Ministry of Health (MOH), Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM), Securities Commission (SC), Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) and Mission of Malaysia to the EU.
