His Excellency Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Belgium presented his letters of Credence to His Majesty Philippe of Belgium, King of the Belgians on Thursday, 6 October 2016. The presentation of credentials was conducted in an official ceremony at the Royal Palace in the Belgium capital of Brussels.
During the private audience following the ceremony, His Majesty the King expressed his satisfaction with the existing good and friendly bilateral relations between Belgium and Malaysia. He expressed the hope that the bilateral relations will be further strengthened particularly the area of economy and trade. His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah shared the views of His Majesty the King and conveyed his commitments to further enhance bilateral relations in all fields of common interest, especially in economy and trade as well as people to people relations.
Ambassador Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah is the 13th Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Belgium. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah was Malaysia’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN in Jakarta and had served as the Head of Mission in Wellington and Jordan.
Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah succeeds Dato’ Nafisah Mohamed, who retired from the diplomatic service in June 2016.
