The ASEAN Cultural Night 2010, was held on 26 November 2010 in Richmond. It was co-organized by the Consulates General of ASEAN in Vancouver and the Southeast Asian Canada Business Council (SEACBC). The aim of the event was to expose the rich and diverse ASEAN culture and cuisine to local Canadians and to provide good networking opportunities between the Consulates General, SEACBC and the guests. About 350 attended the event.
The ASEAN Cultural Night was declared opened by the Consul General of Malaysia, as Chairman and on behalf of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver. Hon Alice Wong, Parliamentary Secretary for Multiculturalism of Canada and Hon Richard T Lee, Parliamentary Secretary for Asia Pacific Initiative of British Columbia presented their greetings from the Government of Canada and British Columbia, respectively.
The ASEAN Cultural Night saw the performances of cultural and traditional dances from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
