i. To apply for a new Malaysian passport, please refer to application for a Malaysian passport. The result of the application (approved or otherwise) by the Department of Immigration Malaysia will be notified to the applicant in due time by the Consulate General of Malaysia, Vancouver.
ii. All Malaysians residing in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan are strongly advised to register with the Consulate General of Malaysia in Vancouver in view of the frequency of natural and man-made disasters worldwide. Information gathered during registration would facilitate expeditious consular assistance and easy access to communication with the next-of-kin in case of Emergency.

APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE (E.C.)

i. An Emergency Certificate (EC) is not a passport and it is solely used to facilitate the holder
to return to Malaysia only. An EC can only be issued after approval from the

VERIFICATION OF DEATH

NOTE:
i. The procedure for accompanying ashes back to Malaysia, in the event of a cremation, would require a written authorization from the next-of- kin. The letter should be enclosed with copies of passport (biodata pages 1 and 2), Malaysian Identity Card (front and back) and valid Canadian Permanent Resident card (front and back) /valid Work permit/ valid study permit of the person who signed the written authorization.
ii. Foreign documents issued in Canada must be notarized by a notary public or a lawyer in Canada and certified by the Provincial authority respectively. For additional information, please refer to the list of authorities for the Authentication of Documents below

The application for a driving licence information and verification can be requested online at: https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul
Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Malaysia (Road Transport Department of Malaysia) can also be contacted at +603 - 8000 8000 if you require further assistance on this matter.
Please use the Microsoft Edge browser (not Chrome), and login to Mysikap as an individual. If you do not have an account, create one using “sign in as first time user”.
After logging in, you may select “Driving Licence” or whichever service you require, and proceed accordingly.
