2025 China Dark Tea Conference – 2025 Wuzhou Liupao Tea Cultural Festival held in Wuzhou

On 13 November 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the opening ceremony of 2025 China Dark Tea Conference – 2025 Wuzhou Liupao Tea Cultural Festival, in Wuzhou City, Guangxi.

Co-hosted by the Wuzhou People’s Government and the China Tea Marketing Association, the event aimed at promoting exchange and cooperation within the global tea industry. 

In addition to Wuzhou, a major dark tea producing area in China, the event featured 79 renowned tea enterprises from five other key dark tea regions, namely Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hunan, and Hubei.

Prior to the opening ceremony, the Consul General also participated in the group courtesy meeting with Mr. Jiang Liansheng, Secretary of the CPC Wuzhou Municipal Committee in the evening of 12 November 2025.

During the meeting, the Consul General was briefed by Mr. Jiang on Wuzhou's city profile and the development history of Liupao tea. The Consul General appreciated the hospitality extended by the government and was impressed by the historical economic and trade exchanges of Liupao tea between Wuzhou and Malaysia. He then expressed his hope for closer cooperation between the two sides in tea industry and other areas in the future.

Also in attendance were Mr. César Gamboa, Consul General of Chile in Guangzhou, Mr. Kuei Jun Pan, President of Malaysia Liupao Tea Association, and senior officials from local government agencies.
