On 25 May 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the launching ceremony of EnOWa, a smart cultural and tourism platform and the China -ASEAN AI Innovation Application Competition, at the International Passenger Port in Beihai City, Guangxi.

The event served as a platform to discuss new ways of travelling under the rapid development of AI background and develop tailor-made itineraries that cater to the diverse preferences of travellers from China and ASEAN.
During the event, the Consul General took the opportunity to promote Visit Malaysia 2026 by highlighting Malaysia’s diverse culture and unique tourism resources spanning from food, nature, infrastructure, shopping, beaches to friendly and charming people.
He then highlighted that Malaysia is one of the popular tourism destinations for Chinese tourists due to four major points, namely short distance between the two countries, visa-exemption for Chinese nationals, safety, as well as wide range of tourism products and services.
In conclusion, he welcomed Chinese tourists to visit Malaysia and called for efforts from both sides to promote regional integration and people-to-people links.

Also in attendance were Mr. Cai Jinjun, Secretary of CPC Beihai Municipal Committee, Mr. Ou Yujun, Director-General of Guangxi Department of Culture and Tourism, Ms. Li Li, Mayor of Beihai Municipal People's Government, and diplomats from ASEAN missions in Nanning.
