On 5 February 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail attended the opening ceremony of “Cinta Musang”, a Malaysian durian themed store, at Zone E of Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event was organized by Guangxi Beibu Gulf Logistics, one of the subsidiaries of the state-owned Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group. Also in attendance were Vice Consul Ms. Farah Eliza Mansor, officials from CAEXPO secretariat, Guangxi Department of Commerce, company representatives and local media friends.

In his address, the Consul General commended on the significant role of the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” and China-ASEAN Expo in promoting the economic ties between Malaysia and China. He added that Malaysia is pushing for a new protocol that would allow Malaysia to export fresh durian into China. He then expressed his welcome on the visit of more business travellers from China to Malaysia by taking the opportunity of visa free arrangement launched by Malaysia.
During the event, the Consul General also co-presided the plaque unveiling ceremony and cake-cutting ceremony with Mr. Zhou Shaobo, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd.


The Consul General also engaged and got feedback from Malaysian durian suppliers who participated in the opening ceremony on their trade cooperation with China as well as transportation and logistics status during the trading process.
