NANNING, 23 May 2019 –Mr. Azlimi Zakaria, Consul General of Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on the Consul General of Royal Thai in Nanning, H.E. Mr. Chairat Porntipwarawet at the Royal Thai Consulate-General office.
Mr. Azlimi expressed his appreciation to Consul General Chairat for the support and cooperation of the Thai Consulate towards the establishment of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Nanning in the middle of 2015.
The Consul General of Thailand congratulated Mr. Azlimi on his assumption as the Consul General of Malaysia. He also expressed his desire to strengthen relations between Malaysia, Thailand and Guangxi. Both Consuls General also discussed plans for ASEAN Missions in Nanning to be more visible among the local community.
The call on the Consul General of Thailand is a part of courtesy calls by the Malaysian Consul-General since receiving his letter of exequatur from MFA Beijing in May 2019.
