On 22 June 2022, the Secretary General of China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Secretariat Ms. Wei Zhaohui paid a courtesy call on Consul General Mr. Azlimi Zakaria, upon her assumption of duty.
The Consul General conveyed his warm wishes and congratulations on the new Secretary General. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly ties between the two sides in past years since the first CAEXPO held in 2004.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the preparation and coordination for the upcoming 19th CAEXPO in which Malaysia will serve as the Country of Honour. The Consul General expressed the government’s support on this event and shared that more highlighted activities, such as business promotion seminars, B2B matchmaking events, live streaming promotion of Malaysia’s goods and service etcs. are expected to be held this year.
Both leaders reaffirmed to main close communication with each other and expressed confidence that the economic and trade ties between Malaysia and Guangxi will be further strengthened through CAEXPO platform in the coming years.
