YAB Deputy Prime Minister II and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof led the Malaysian delegation to the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) on 16-19 September 2025 in Nanning, Guangxi. He was in Nanning as part of his working visit to China from 16 to 23 September 2025.
The Opening Ceremony of the 22nd CAEXPO and CABIS took place in the morning of 17 September. The Deputy Prime Minister was among the Guest of Honour to address the opening. In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister commended the pivotal role of the CAEXPO in promoting trade and investment, fostering mutual trust, strengthening regional linkages, and delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of ASEAN and China.
He emphasized the strong bilateral trade cooperation between China and Malaysia over the years. He further underscored Malaysia’s commitment to working closely with China and ASEAN to fully harness the potential of Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and unlock new opportunities for cooperation.
He also stressed that Malaysia, as ASEAN Chair 2025, is committed to fostering a dynamic, competitive, integrated, and resilient region, while upholding ASEAN Centrality and strengthening regional cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister officiates the CAEXPO with other guests
In the afternoon of 17 September, the Deputy Prime Minister officiated Malaysia Pavilion at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, apart from the popular durian, white coffee and bird’s nest, Malaysia showcased a broad spectrum of offerings, including education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, as well as high-value sectors such as technology, artificial intelligence, logistics and construction materials.
The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by H.E Dato’ Norman Muhamad, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, Dato’ Mohd Rodzwan Mohd Baba Sakri, Deputy Secretary General (Water) of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Mr. Ahmad Phadil Mohamed Ismail, Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning and other senior officials from Malaysia.
