In the morning of 8 December 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the opening ceremony of the 19th ASEAN-Oriented Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Forum, at the Grand Metro Park Hotel in Nanning.
The event brought together 150 guests from home and abroad to the forum, sharing suggestions on in-depth cultural experiences and cross-border tourism cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
H.E. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abdu Sohot, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia delivered keynote address at the opening. He highlighted the cultural diversity and rich tourism resources of Malaysia. He added that as Malaysia is embarking on the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, Malaysia looks forward to welcoming more Chinese guests to visit Malaysia.
During the forum, Mr. Khan Keng Yi, Deputy President of Malaysia-China Folklore Culture Tourism Association gave a detailed presentation on Malaysia’s tourism resources and diversified culture of Baba Nyonya.
Also in attendance were H.E. Hu Fan, Vice Governor of Guangxi Government, H.E. Vansy KOUAMOUA, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, and senior officials from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
