On 22 October 2024, Vice Consul Ms. Farah Eliza Mansor participated in the 2024 Opening Ceremony for International Students of Guangxi Minzu University (GMU), at the University’s Xiangsihu Campus.
Taking place annually before the start of each academic year, the ceremony officially welcomes the incoming international students into GMU. In 2024, over 600 freshmen from around the world including Malaysia embarked on a new journey at GMU.
The highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring words of Professor Wei Shizhen, President of GMU, who motivated the students to understand and appreciate diverse cultures in particular Chinese culture as they navigate their education journey. She also urged the students to foster intercultural communication skills and prepare themselves to become a talent with global vision.
Currently, there are a total of 20 Malaysian students studying at the University, taking courses in international business, computer science and technology, finance and environmental design.
