A total of RM572.01 million in potential sales was generated through the 18th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), which was participated by 58 Malaysian companies leading by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The participating companies offered various Malaysian-made products and services, such as food and beverages, health and wellness and lifestyle where 2,574 business enquiries and more than 150 business meetings were arranged between Malaysian exhibitors with Chinese importers, distributors and wholesalers.
39 Malaysian companies participated in the physical trade fair while 19 other companies joined virtually. A live streaming session was also introduced to promote Malaysian products and enhance Malaysia’s visibility.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Tourism Malaysia, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), and Education Malaysia (EM) also set up their information counters or booth in the physical Malaysia pavilion at Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICEC) to pursue opportunities in China.
China has been the largest trading partner to Malaysia for the 12th consecutive year since 2009 and accounted for 18.6 per cent of Malaysia’s total trade in 2020.
