On 17 September 2023, the Prime Minister of Malaysia YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning, capital city of southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Prime Minister was among the Guest of Honour to address the opening ceremony of CAEXPO.
During his visit, YAB Prime Minister also had substantive meeting with his counterpart Premier Li Qiang covering a wide range of issues from infrastructure, digital economy to green development, which fosters closer exchanges and cooperation with China.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs YB Datuk Mohamad bin Alamin; Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry YB Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz; Minister of Local Government Development YB Nga Kor Ming; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security YB Mr. Chan Foong Hin; Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail and other senior government officials.
This year, Malaysia has successfully coordinated a total of 107 Malaysian companies and 9 other government agencies participating in the CAEXPO, covering from food & beverage, healthcare & wellness, lifestyle products to services and reporting an overall export sale worth RM625.42 million.
