On 16 September 2022, Mr. Azlimi bin Zakaria, Consul-General of Malaysia in Nanning, attended the opening ceremony of Malaysia Pavilion at the 19th CAEXPO. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, and H.E. Li Fei, Assistant Minister of China’s Ministry of Commerce.

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the leading agency for Malaysia’s commodity pavilion during the CAEXPO, has successfully coordinated the participation of 36 Malaysian companies to the 19th CAEXPO, 25 of which participated in the physical trade fair while 11 others attended virtually in offering various Malaysian made products and services.
The sectors promoted in CAEXPO 2022 included Oil and Gas, Healthcare and Wellness, Food & Beverages and Lifestyle. Apart from the Malaysian SMEs, the Malaysia Pavilion featured prominent brands such as Petronas, AirAsia, Shangri–La and Sime Darby Group to showcase their products and services.

Other key government agencies such as Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Malaysia Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Malaysia Timber Council (MTC), Education Malaysia (EM) also participated physically in the Malaysia Pavilion. Tourism Malaysia organized a series of colourful activities in order to expand more interest by highlighting Malaysia as a preferred tourist attraction destination.
On this occasion, the Consul-General together with the Ambassador, and officials of Malaysian agencies and local government conducted a pavilion tour and talked with some business operators in tourism, coffee, bird nest, oil and gas etc.
