On 23 April 2026, the ASEAN Consulates General in Shanghai and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shanghai jointly organized a forum titled “Opportunities in ASEAN for Chinese Companies: Exploring Areas for Collaboration to Support the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan 2026-2030”. The event was attended by approximately 120 participants including ASEAN Consuls General and various Chinese business associations and enterprises.
Vice President of CCPIT Shanghai, Mr. Ma Yi and the Consul General of the Philippines, Ms. Myca Magnolia M. Fischer delivered Welcoming Remarks, emphasizing the significance of the ASEAN market for Chinese businesses.
During the panel discussions, representatives from ASEAN and China explored key topics such as green development, infrastructure connectivity and digital transformation, which provided valuable insights into ASEAN investment policies and the legal environment for Chinese enterprises. Malaysia was represented by Mr Arvind Santhanam Prasad from Maybank.
