On 21 January 2026, the Consul General, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis received a courtesy call by the Deputy Director General of Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office (FAO), Mr. Xu Leping, who was accompanied by the Director of Asian Affairs, Mrs. Yu Ying.
During the meeting, DDG Xu briefed the Consul General on Ningbo’s plans for engagement with Malaysia this year, focusing on sister city partnerships, port cooperation and people-to-people connections.
The Consul General welcomed the initiatives and reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to work together with the city to enhance collaborative efforts across key sectors, including trade, investment, manufacturing, education, and healthcare.
