Consul General, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis received a courtesy call from the Director of the Taizhou Foreign Affairs Office (FAO), Mr. Wu Guochao on 22 April 2026.
During the meeting, Mr. Wu briefed the Consul General on Taizhou’s economic priorities, which focus on key industry clusters including automobiles, medicine and healthcare, intelligent sewing equipment and high-end molds. He also highlighted the “Taizhou–Malaysia” Ro-Ro shipping route officially launched in March this year, as well as the China–Malaysia International Vocational Education Alliance for Logistics and Supply Chain Management established in September 2024. Mr. Wu further conveyed Taizhou’s interest in forming a sister-city partnership with a Malaysian state.
The Consul General acknowledged the ongoing cooperation between Malaysia and Zhejiang, including Taizhou, in investment and trade. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties through education and tourism.
