On 30 January 2026, the Consul General, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis chaired an online meeting to discuss potential collaboration between the Department of Museums Malaysia (JMM) and Shanghai Art Collection Museum (SACM). JMM was led by the Deputy Director General (Policy), Mr. Mohamad Shawali bin Haji Badi, while SACM was represented by its President, Mr. Hu Muqing.
The discussion focused on SACM’s proposal for a strategic collaboration with JMM on a series of events throughout this year, with a particular emphasis on a Cheng Ho Exhibition that is envisaged to be held in Malaysia. This engagement marks a significant milestone in strengthening cultural ties and advancing exchanges between Malaysia and China.
