Consul General participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 4th China-Hancheng Belt and Road International Lanterns and Art Festival on 25-26 January 2019 in Hancheng City, located in north-western Shaanxi Province.
The Consular Corps based in Xi’an also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chu Jinfeng, Party Secretary of Hancheng Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, Mr. Liu Defeng
During the courtesy call, Mr. Yan Jinfeng said that Hancheng had undergone tremendous changes and rapid economic and social development in the past year. Many achievements such as ecological environmental protection, cultural tourism development, reform and innovation, and fixed asset investment were in the forefront of the Province. Hancheng is also the hometown of the great historian Sima Qian. In recent years, Hancheng has successfully held many international events which had elevated Hancheng’s popularity as a culture and tourism city.
The Consular Corps noted that Hancheng's profound historical and cultural heritage and its tourism resources are unique. The Consular Corps hoped that the city would be able to further promoted common development and achieve win-win cooperation with their respective countries, especially in the culture and tourism sectors.
