Consul General paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Hu Heping, Governor of Shaanxi Province at the Grand New Century Hotel on 8 December 2016.
Governor Hu was accompanied by Mr. Chen Guoqiang, Secretary General of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Zhang Baowen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Zhao Runmin, Director-General of Commerce Department and Mr. Xue Hua, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shaanxi Sub-Council.
The Provincial Government has indicated its strong desire and commitment to work with the Malaysian Government in fostering the relations in all areas as detailed by the Governor. Governor Hu personally commented that the current Malaysia-China relationship is “at its best period in history” and hoped that the establishment of the Consulate General would also contribute positively to the development of the Malaysia-Shaanxi ties. The same sentiment was also conveyed by senior officials at the Foreign Affairs Office whom the Consulate General had engaged with throughout the course of the past several weeks.
