11 March 2024 – Mr. Zhang Tianyin, Executive Vice President of the Shaanxi International Chinese Education Research Association, visited Consul General Mr. Lum Wan Liang. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen educational cooperation between Malaysia and China. Mr. Zhang proposed establishing partnerships with Malaysian universities and vocational colleges to promote joint academic programs at both the undergraduate and diploma levels. He highlighted the potential for collaborative curriculum development, faculty exchanges, and dual-degree programs.
The Consul General praised Mr. Zhang’s dedication to enhancing Malaysia-China educational ties. He affirmed the Consulate’s commitment to facilitating connections with Malaysian institutions and stated that the Consulate would actively coordinate with Malaysian universities and vocational colleges to support these partnerships, particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), where both nations have complementary strengths.
