On November 27, 2024, the Consul General of Malaysia in Xian received a courtesy visit from representatives of Loong Air. The purpose of the meeting was to announce that Loong Air will begin direct flight operations from Xian to Penang starting December 31, 2024. This new direct flight service is expected to increase the number of tourists traveling from Shaanxi Province to Penang, thereby promoting Malaysia's tourism sector to local visitors.
