On 16 January 2026, Mr Lum Wan Liang, the outgoing Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an, paid a farewell visit to Mr Li Jun, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, upon concluding his term. Mr Lum expressed deep appreciation for Shaanxi’s support and emphasised the growing partnership between Malaysia and Shaanxi, particularly within the broader context of strong Malaysia–China relations. He highlighted opportunities for further collaboration in trade, investment, the digital economy, education, and culture, and urged continued cooperation for mutual benefit.
Vice Governor Li Jun praised Mr Lum’s contributions to strengthening ties and reaffirmed Shaanxi’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Malaysia. He wished Mr Lum well in his future endeavours and invited him to return to witness Shaanxi’s progress.
