On 27 March 2026, the Malaysia-China Culinary Showcase was hosted by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an, in collaboration with the Shaanxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Lantian Vocational Education Centre, a distinguished local institution renowned for culinary arts. Following the welcoming remark by the Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an, Ms Farah Rakesh, Mr Wei Jianbo, Inspector of the Shaanxi Foreign Affairs Office and Mr Zhang Hui, Principal of Lantian Vocational Education Centre. Subsequently, the Vice Consul presented a briefing entitled “Discover Malaysia”.
Chef Sam Saimon Bueng and sous-chef Safizsyahril Misran expertly executed the culinary demonstrations. The Lantian Vocational Education Centre showcased their dough sculpture titled Xiangy at the event. This collaboration successfully bridged the diplomatic, governmental, and educational spheres, fostering cultural synergy.
