On 26 November 2025, Mr. Lum Wan Liang, the Consul General of Malaysia to Xi’an, attended the 2025 International Students Culture and Art Festival at Xidian University. The event, themed “Singing Across Continents, Shining Around the Globe,” featured over 1,200 international students from 39 universities and aimed to showcase diverse cultures while promoting mutual learning and friendship.
The festival included two main chapters: “Diverse Continents, Cradle of Civilizations” and “Eastern Charm, Harmony in Diversity.” Highlights included a collaborative performance called Drums of the Continents, and various acts such as the Mongolian dance Northern Winds and the Central Asian dance Silk Road Caravan Bells. The second chapter highlighted Chinese culture with performances like Blue and White Porcelain and the innovative opera medley Legends in Light and Shadow, which incorporated robotic shadow puppetry. The event concluded with all performers singing You and Me, symbolizing friendship and unity.
