The Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an visited the Lintong District on 4 March 2025 and received by Mr Miao Ji, District Governor, Mr Xue Fan, Deputy District Governor, and local officials. Governor Miao emphasized Lintong’s cultural and tourism assets, which include the Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Palace, and the performance of the "Song of Everlasting Sorrow." He also announced plans to develop a tourism-focused town near the Terracotta Warriors site and invited Malaysian businesses to invest in this project.
The Consul General expressed his gratitude to Mr. Miao for the warm hospitality and praised Lintong’s international reputation in cultural tourism and management practices. He proposed enhancing exchanges between Malaysian tourism firms and Lintong, including programs for student and professional training. Additionally, he invited Lintong to participate in the 2026 World Tourism Day celebrations in Malacca, where it could showcase its cultural assets.
Highlighting the importance of the existing Malaysia-Xi’an flights in facilitating tourism, he reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to deepening cultural and economic ties with China. Both parties agreed to explore partnerships in tourism promotion, investment, and heritage management.
