On 13th April 2024, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi'an hosted an Open House to celebrate Hari Raya, which marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Syawal. Around 500 guests turned out during the celebration; among others were members of the Diplomatic Corps, Malaysians residing in Shaanxi, Gangsu and Lanzhou Province, representatives from local agencies, international school teachers, consulate staff and their family members. Nevertheless, people from different cultures and religions also enjoyed the celebration. The celebration featured a variety of local and unique Hari Raya cuisines such as Nasi Hujan Panas, Beef Rendang, Mutton Curry, Dalca, Acar Rampai, Nasi Impit, Kuah Kacang, Satay, Roti Jala, and varieties of Malaysian traditional kuih. In Malaysia, hosting Open House events during festive seasons is common. These events welcome neighbours, family, and friends to your home and treat them to delicious food.
