In Germany first Syawal was celebrated on 25 June 2017. This year H.E Ambassador and his wife hosted the celebration at their residence, Rumah Malaysia. Malaysians in and around Berlin as well as cities and states near Berlin arrived at Rumah Malaysia as early as 8am to join H.E. Ambassador and other members of the Embassy to preform the Aidilfitri Solat at 8.30am. led by Imam Haji Bakar Idris. This was followed by brunch.
Malaysians were served with arrays of food including rainbow ghee rice (nasi hujan panas), rendang, soto, lontong, satay, lemang and many others.
