H.E. Ambassador joined his ASEAN counterparts during a meeting with Parliamentarians from the ASEAN friendship group at the Bundestag. The group, led by its Chairman MP Dr. Thomas Gambke (Green Party) has been actively engaging ASEAN embassies in recent years to promote closer engagement between ASEAN and Germany. The meeting was held as part of regular interactions between the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC) and the friendship group. During the meeting, Ambassadors and MPs exchanged views on recent developments, most notably the changes that the new US administration under President Donald Trump will bring and how it will affect Germany and ASEAN. The meeting also discussed developments in the renewable energy and technical training sectors in ASEAN, and how Germany can help the region further develop in those sectors as a development partner.
