2nd December 2011: The DtMG (German-Malaysia Society) with the support of Embassy of Malaysia, Berlin hosted the DtMG award ceremony for outstanding contributions toward promoting cultural understanding between Malaysia and Germany. The memorable event held at the Atrium, Embassy of Malaysia was attended by various guests from the Government Officials, business industries and Foundations representatives. The award recipients were H.E Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz former Minister of International Trade and Industry, who now is the chairwoman of Air Asia, adviser and patron of the Malaysia-Europe Forum and Datuk Dr. Helmut Baur as CE) of Binder Optics, Board Member of the German BMVW and Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Baden’Wurttemberg.
The guests were inspired of speeches by various individuals especially by the award recipients. They encouraged for all to continue on promoting cultural understanding not only between Malaysia and Germany but throughout the world. In between, members of the audience were entertained by trio classical musicians, and the enchanting Embassy Singers and an art exhibition by a Malaysian Artist Zubin Zainal.
