On 14 April 2026, Berlin - H.E. Ambassador Mohamad Razdan Jamil undertook a series of engagements in Berlin with key Malaysian and German stakeholders, aimed at strengthening Malaysia–Germany economic cooperation and industry linkages.
The day commenced with a meeting at the Embassy with Datuk Dr. Helmut Baur, Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, where both sides exchanged views on enhancing outreach efforts and facilitating closer engagement with German industry, particularly in key regional economic hubs.
This was followed by a working lunch with Mr. Andreas Jahn, Member of the Executive Board of the BVMW (German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses), at the Berlin Capital Club. Discussions focused on preparations for an upcoming German economic delegation to Malaysia, including potential engagements with key stakeholders and relevant trade agencies. Both sides also explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as industrial development, training, and SME collaboration, while addressing broader challenges faced by German businesses, including regulatory environment, energy costs, and workforce requirements.
In the evening, Ambassador Razdan also attended a dinner engagement along the Spree River with Mr. Christoph Ahlhaus, Chairman of the Board of BVMW, and other Board Members of the associations. The discussions provided valuable insights into the role of Germany’s SMEs in driving innovation and economic growth, as well as current challenges affecting competitiveness, including energy costs, bureaucracy, and global competition.
