In an effort to promote the message of the ASEAN Community, the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), together with the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) and Deutsche Messe AG organized the ASEAN Dialogue in Hannover on 26 April 2016. Held on the sideline of the Hannover Messe, the event provided opportunities for businesses and decision makers from both ASEAN and Germany, particularly from Lower Saxony, to engage one another and promote closer economic ties.
The Dialogue began with a meeting with the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Mr. Stephan Weil. During the meeting, both sides expressed their desire to see economic cooperation between ASEAN and Lower Saxony flourish. Some measures were suggested to further strengthen cooperation between the 2 sides. The BAC delegation also visited a number of exhibitors at Hannover Messe.
Concluding the programme of the Dialogue was a networking session between representatives from ASEAN and Lower Saxony. Ambassadors took the opportunity to explain to companies the opportunities presented by the ASEAN Community during a question and answer session.
