From Berlin, Prime Minister Najib and delegation travelled to the northeastern state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on 28 September 2016. The programme in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern began in the State's capital, Schwerin, where Prime Minister Najib was received by Minister-President Erwin Sellering. Leaders and delegations from the two sides had a political meeting, where they discussed possible cooperation between Malaysia and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
From Schwerin, Prime Minister Najib proceeded to Wismar, a Hanseatic City in the north of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At Wismar, Prime Minister Najib was received by Mr. Thomas Beyer, Mayor of Wismar and was hosted by Minister-President Sellering in lunch at the City Hall. Prime Minister Najib also visited a shipyard owned by MV Werften, a company which was acquired by Malaysian-owned Genting Group earlier this year.
