We are pleased to participate in the briefing on Fiji’s Social Cohesion and Reconciliation (SCORE) Index on 11 May 2026. It provided an opportunity for engagement with Hon. Sashi Kiran, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, alongside policymakers and diplomats. The SCORE Index had also been introduced to policy makers, media, academia, and civil society organisations. The engagement was focused on strengthening social cohesion, democratic resilience, reconciliation, and inclusive development in Fiji. Participants engaged actively with findings that highlighted the strong sense of shared identity among communities in Fiji, the importance of trust-building across institutions and society, and the role of constructive dialogue in promoting long-term peace, stability, and prosperity. Participants also discussed the importance of empowering youth, strengthening community engagement, promoting inclusive leadership, and enhancing civic and cultural understanding as key foundations for resilient and harmonious societies. Acknowledged during the engagement as well was the valuable contributions of policy makers, media, academia, and civil society organisations in shaping informed public discourse and evidence-based policymaking. The engagement reflects Malaysia’s continued support for dialogue, mutual understanding, and partnerships that contribute towards efforts that promote peace stability, and prosperity for all. We remain committed to engaging with strategic partners and stakeholders in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity for all.
