Following the series of attacks in central Paris on Friday, 13 November 2015, there have been no reports of injury or loss of life among Malaysians in France.
On 13 November 2015, the President of France declared a state of emergency. This means that security is heightened to the maximum level. In line with this directive, that there is increased presence of law enforcement officers and armed forces in France, particularly in Paris. Border controls have also been tightened. Travel via airports, rail links, and road transportation remain operational but expect more security measures and some delays due to heightened security scrutiny, checks, and measures.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris would like to inform Malaysians that no curfews have been imposed. Those in Paris are slowly returning to performing their daily activities. In doing so, boutiques and restaurants remain open and are frequented by customers. Establishments administered by the Culture Ministry will be opened and athletic events can be commenced starting from 16 November 2015, 13h00 onwards. The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris would like to advise Malaysians to remain vigilant, take extra precautions, be aware of surroundings, and follow the advice of local authorities.
