The Petronas Leadership Center (PLC) received a Gold award, for Best Corporate University in embodying the identity, culture and the brand of the organization in its stake holders, by GlobalCCU, the Global Council of Corporate Universities at a ceremony held at the Microsoft Europe headquarters in Paris on March 13, 2013.
The GlobalCCU Awards recognize the very best Corporate Universities worldwide that have performed at the highest level of excellence and have realized great advancements within and for the profession.
Encik Yasir Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of PLC and Dr Zulkifli Abdul Rahim, Head of PLC Advance Leadership Solutions and Innovations were at the ceremony to receive the award.
Malaysian Ambassador to France, His Excellency Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal; Club Med CEO Henri Giscard d’Estaing; Microsoft Europe Chairman Jan Muehlfeit; Ambassadors and representatives of the embassies of Brazil, Ghana, India, Namibia, Portugal, Turkey, Uganda and the United States of America and key figures of the corporate world were among those present to witness the award presentation.
The jury, composed of 14 international experts, selected 15 finalists to win one of the gold, silver and bronze trophies in the following 5 categories awards:
- Best overall Corporate University
Defence Acquisition University (USA) – Gold Award
- Best Corporate University embodying the identity, culture and the brand of the organization in its stake holders
PETRONAS LEADERSHIP CENTER (Malaysia) - Gold Award
- Best Impact of Corporate University on implementation of business strategies of the organization
YAPI KREDI (Turkey) – Gold Award
- Best Innovative Corporate University
GAS NATURAL FENOSA (Spain) – Gold Award
- Distinguished Prize for leveraging Corporate Responsibility through Corporate University
HAGER (Germany)
The Petronas Leadership Center was chosen for the gold award by the jury who appreciated the Centre’s following points of excellence:
- The capacity of the Petronas Leadership Center to impact corporate culture with innovative learning solutions living up to the company spirit tagline of ‘re-imagining energy’ and supporting the company vision of a leading oil and gas multinational of choice.
- The leadership centre has successfully leveraged global partners to develop a leadership style that distinguishes Petronas in the world map and contributes to reinforce Petronas identity.
- The Leadership Centre has very smartly aligned its brand of the company ‘re-imagining energy’ through the use of the specific tagline ‘Transforming Leaders’ that represent the same collective request to ‘think out of the box’ and push performance boundaries.
