The 12th ASEAN-China Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting (ACJCC) was held on 2 March 2011 at the ASEAN Secretariat. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Vu Dang Dzung, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to ASEAN and Her Excellency Tong Xiaoling, Ambassador of China to ASEAN. Malaysia’s Permanent Representative,Dato’ Hsu King Bee,led the Malaysia Delegation. She was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Representative,Ms. ZanariahZainalAbidin.
The Meeting discussed various issues, such as, follow-up to the 13th ASEAN-China Summit, October 2010, Ha Noi, Viet Nam, including initiative announced by Leaders; progress of the Establishment of the ASEAN-China Centre in Beijing; progress of the Implementation of the Plan of Action 2005-2010; future direction of ASEAN-China relations including implementation of the Plan of Action 2011-2015; Commemorative Activities for the 20th Anniversary of the ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations in 2011; preparations for the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference with China, July 2011, Indonesia; and follow-up to the Special ASEAN-China FM’s Meeting, 25 January 2011, Kunming, China.
The Meeting witnessed China’s steadfast and continued support for ASEAN and its efforts towards building an ASEAN Community by 2015.
