On 6 March 2026, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Mr. Syed Edwan Anwar bin Syed Ariff Fadzillah participated in the 14th ASEAN-Canada Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting at ASEAN Secretariat.
The Meeting reviewed the steady progress of the ASEAN–Canada Dialogue Partnership. Malaysia welcomed Canada’s strong participation at the 47th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur in October 2025, including the presence of The Honourable Prime Minister Mark Carney as Guest of the Chair.
Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with ASEAN and Canada to deliver practical, tangible and impactful outcomes under the ASEAN-Canada Plan of Action (2026–2030).
