On 15 April 2026, H.E Ambassador Sarah Al Bakri Devadason received an Introductory Call from the new Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to ASEAN, H.E. Elisa Maria da Silva.
During the call, H.E Elisa expressed Timor-Leste’s sincere appreciation to Malaysia for all the supports and efforts for its admission as the 11th Member of ASEAN during a historic ceremony in October last year in Kuala Lumpur.
Timor-Leste is committed to working closely with all ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partners in upholding ASEAN unity and centrality.
