Eight officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) concluded their one-year attachment programme at the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Division and Socio-Cultural Community Division of ASEAN Secretariat. The certificates of completion were presented by H.E. Koichi Aiboshi, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN; H.E. Kan Paridh, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to ASEAN and Chair of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Task Force; and H.E. Lim Hong Hin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community.
The attachment programme, which was funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) is one of the projects carried out under the IAI. The said Programme provides supports to the CLMV officials through training at the ASEAN Secretariat focusing on economic and socio-cultural areas such as trade and investment, trade facilitation, external economic relations, connectivity, education, as well as culture and information. Throughout the programme, the participants have participated in various job-related activities such as preparing documents for ASEAN meetings, managing ASEAN projects, as well as study tour to Japan.
The next Programme will be convened its session in June 2014.
