On 6 May 2024, the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN hosted an event entitled “Flavours of Malaysia : Gastronomic Diplomacy” at the Malaysian Embassy’s complex. The event welcomed 200 guests of ASEAN diplomats, staff from the ASEAN Secretariat, ambassadors from ASEAN external partners and staff of the Malaysian Embassy. The guests were graced by various traditional Malaysian cuisines such as nasi lemak, chicken rendang, fried char kuetiau, murtabak, lemang, satay, roti jala, kuih ketayap, curry puff and teh tarik. The “Flavours of Malaysia” event showcased Malaysia’s warmth, friendliness and diversity of cultures through food among diplomatic corps.
