9 December 2025 marked a milestone for the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) as Malaysia officially handed over the ASEAN Chairmanship to the Philippines. Malaysia expressed its commitment to support the Philippines in leading ASEAN during its Chairmanship in 2026, building on the CPR’s ongoing work in advancing ASEAN’s shared priorities under the theme “Navigating Our Future Together.” During the ceremony, Secretary-General of ASEAN commended Malaysia on its dedicated stewardship of the CPR in 2025 and congratulated H.E Sarah on her able chairmanship throughout the year.
