His Excellency Dato’ Hasnudin bin Hamzah, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN presented his Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, on 29 February 2012, during a ceremony held at the ASEAN Secretariat.
Dr. Surin, in welcoming Dato’ Hasnudin to Jakarta, emphasized the important role of the Committee of Permanent Representatives in furthering and coordinating the work of ASEAN at the regional level. Dato’ Hasnudin expressed his commitment to work closely with the Secretary-General and ASEAN Secretariat in advancing the ASEAN agenda. He emphasized the need to make ASEAN a household name by 2015, when the ASEAN Community is realized which would coincide with Malaysia assuming the Chairmanship of ASEAN.
