On 5 February 2026, the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN, the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, and the Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region co-hosted the Spring Festival 2026 celebration at the ASEAN Secretariat.
The festive celebration attended by over 200 representatives from ASEAN family and our external partners featured cultural performances and exhibitions, showcasing China's rich cultural heritage and Lunar New Year traditions with ASEAN Member States and external partners.
As Country Coordinator for ASEAN-China relations, H.E. Sarah highlighted the symbolic significance of the Year of the Fire Horse in strengthening the ASEAN-China partnership, noting this year's dual milestones: the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-China relations and the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
