The 5th Meeting of the ASEAN-Canada Joint Cooperation Meeting was held on 6 March 2017 at the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and co-chaired by H.E. Ambassador. Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN and H.E. Marie-Louise Hannan, Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN. The Meeting was attended by all Permanent Representatives of ASEAN and members of respective delegations, as well as ASEC’s officials. Canadian delegation comprised officials from the Mission to ASEAN, Embassy in Bangkok and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
The Meeting expressed satisfaction on the progress of various initiatives and projects to implement the 2016-2020 Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN-Canada Enhanced Partnership. The JCC also discussed possible commemorative activities to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations in 2017.
