ASEAN has played a central role in promoting unity and peace in the region since its inception in 1967. The ASEAN-led regional architecture has a pivotal role in preventing conflict. Malaysia and Australia co-hosted Track 1.5 Workshop on Conflict Prevention, Crisis Management and the ASEAN-led Regional Architecture on 6 December 2024 in Jakarta. The Workshop discussed efforts to prevent conflict and work to maintain regional peace and stability.
