The ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) in Tehran held its 2nd Coffee Morning at Rumah Malaysia on 17 April 2011. The occasion was graced by its Patron, the wife of the Ambassador of Brunei. The spouses of the other ASEAN Heads of Mission were also present together with all other members of the ALC from other ASEAN missions including Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The program begun with the welcoming remarks by Madame Jakkiah Haji Basran as host followed by a short remark by the President of the ALC Mrs Angkana Sirivat of Thailand. The members of the ALC took the opportunity to bid farewell to Mrs. Norsinawati an avid member of the ALC from Brunei Embassy who will end her tour of duty in Tehran. The ALC also elected a new set of office bearers for the year 2011. This was followed by the usual birthday gifts presentation for the month, lucky draws presentation and also a cooking demonstration of an Iranian Cuisine. The members were later served with the traditional Malay cuisine including nasi lemak, rendang ayam, roti jala and varieties of kuih-muih.
